Here are some guides on commission pricing

railing

Railing are priced by the linear meter, generally we will first start by finding out the style of railing you are looking for, whether that is estate railing or picket style etc

as an example if you are looking for 15 meters of black powder coated estate railing we will give a price of £135 per meter, plus the cost of the powder coat at approximately £55 per meter, the time to install being £185 per man day for 2 days (£370) and finally the cost of consumable/tooling for the works generally around 5% the overall cost of the jobs

in total this job would come to £3381

Then if you wanted more decorative elements such as scrolls, flowers etc these would be given as a unit cost per piece added to the above, for instance a scroll might be priced as £5 each with 4 per meter given an additional cost to the job of £300

Gates

gates are priced in a similar way to railings, with a set price on the basic frame (depending on style) for instants a pedestrian gate of approximately 3ft by 6ft start at a cost off £500 with decorative elements being priced per unit, gates also come with the option of differing lock types which are priced accordingly.

the pricing for driveway gates again is similar, there are frame types at a fixed cost depending on the size and shape, as an example a standard twin leaf driveway gate (for a gap of around 3.5-4 meters) with a bell top would be a fixed price of £2200 to fabricate and then decorative elements are priced per unit, please remember that gates will need appropriate posts for the size and weight and these will be priced separately as well.

repairs and restorations

repairs and restorations are complex to price, however we do have a minimum charge of £40 for small repairs, this is typically for repairs that take less than 2 hours to complete such as small weld repairs

larger repairs and restorations will be priced using a day rate with additional costs for tool/material use

a final word on pricing

some jobs/commissions are just to complex to make a guide up for and we will be happy to advise on those jobs

all our quotes are fixed price and require an upfront deposit, generally 50% of the overall cost of the job

we can also provide more detailed break downs of quotes on request

as a general rule, we do not charge for quotes and drawings. however due to the increased complexity of some detailed drawings, I reserve the right to apply a fee. this is because creating these unique designs can require a significant amount of time and effort.

I hope this guide has helped!
